In The Movie 

Kochuthoma (Innocent)
Kochuthoma is an ordinary man making his livelyhood by running a typical street side "thattukada" in Kochi. His only son Kunjumon is his support and releif. At the age of ten, when his son faced trouble to stay at Kochi, Kochuthoma sent him to Kozhikode to stay with his dear friend Swami. Kunjumon grew up under the care and guidance of Swami. He started too started his livelihood by starting a "thattukada" in Kozhikode. But Kunjumon was more interested in the game of cards. Kunjumon grew up to become a famous gambler, which earned him the title of "Gulan Kunjumon". He had a modern outlook in his behavior and life. Whenever Kochuthoma faced trouble, Gulan Kunjumon would come to Kochi to help him out. Once Kochuthoma had a dispute with the owner of Raj Palace, a five star hotel near his "thattukada". As usual Kunjumon drove down from Kozhikode to his father's rescue. The incidents, which follow, form the base of the story.

Lakshmi (Sneha)
Lakshmi is the daughter of Chandrashekara Menon. A multi-millionaire with business in Singapore, Chandrashekara Menon is in jail in Singapore, due to some crisis in his business. He is the actuall owner of Hotel Raj Palace. Lakshmi is in her effort to find money for the release of her father from jail. For this she comes to Kochi to dispose the five star hotel which her father owned in Kochi. Before going to Singapore, her father had entrusted the management of the hotel with a friend of his. But when she arrives in Kochi, Lakshmi realizes that the person who managed the hotel, along with his sons, had seized the hotel by forgery. In her legal fight against them Lakshmi comes to Kochuthoma, who was an old friend of her father. Kochuthoma and his son extends their help against a common enemy.

Swami (Jagathi Sreekumar)
A reputed gold merchant in Kozhikode market, Swami is a close accomplice of Kochuthoma. When Kochuthoma's son Kunjumon was in trouble at the age of ten, it was Swami who took up his guardianship and brought him up. A man with money power and influence, Swami is also a very humorous person.

Chandrashekara Menon (Devan)
The actual owner of Raj Palace, the five star hotel in Kochi, Chandrashekara Menon is basically a multi-millionaire with international business. But following some crisis in his business, he ends up in jail in Singapore. And old friend of Kochuthoma, Chandrashekara Menon is a kind hearted person.

Shathru (Harisree Ashokan)
The main employee of "Gulan Thattukada" and a trusted accomplice of Kochuthoma, Shathru is a humorous character. Whenever Kochuthoma falls in trouble, Shathru acts fast and informs Gulan Kochuthoma. A livly character, Shatru contributes to through out humour in the movie.

Sreedharan Unnithan (Kalasala Babu)
When Chandrashera Menon had to go to Singapore, he had authorised his friend Sreedharan Unnithan to manage the hotel Raj Palace. But Sreedharan Unnithan and his sons forged fake documents and transferred the hotel to their name. After Chandrashekara Menon was imprisoned in Singapore, when his daughter came to Kochi to dispose the hotel, she had to move against Sreedharan Unnithan and sons, legally. Kochuthoma also had dispute with Sreedharan Unnithan and his sons. So when Kochuthoma and Gulan Kunjumon offered to help Chandrashekara Menon's daughter Lakshmi, they had a common enemy. Sreedharan Unnithan and his sons play the negative characters in the movie.

Ravindran (Sureshkrishna)
The eldest son of Sreedharan Unnithan, Ravindran returns to Kochi after winding up his business in Singapore. He joins his father in managing hotel Raj Palace. Ravindran is the reason for all the disputes which arise.

Mahendran (Baburaj)
Mahendran is the younger son of Sreedharan Unnithan. Mahendran believes that he can gain anything with his guts and money power. Sreedharan Unnithan entrusts all evil duties with Mahendran and he knows that Mahendran will handle it well. A strong villain opponent of Gulan Kunjumon, he is also a cold-blooded person.

Raman Kartha (Cochin Haneefa)
The manager of Hotel Raj Palace, Raman Kartha is an accomplice of Sreedharan Unnithan. Always dressed neatly in suit, Raman Kartha moves around the hotel all the time. Sreedharan Unnithan calls him "kottitta mandan". Raman Kartha performs a humorous role with a negative touch.
